I watched the opening night 2007 football game last night between the Colts and the Saints. NBC has really been pushing this game with ads that had Peyton Manning and Reggie Bush in them. In fact, the game started with another ad that game the appearance of it being live in the tunnel just before kickoff (clearly it was not live). From there, I would say at least every other commercial during the first half included Manning. And the biggest problem is, they are dumb.

Don’t get me wrong. I am not trying to bash Peyton Manning here. I think he is very well spoken and a phenomenal quarterback. And I don’t think it is really his fault, but these commercials are terrible. He should really not agree to such bad commercials. And I wish I could watch a Colts game without having every other commercial feature him. Spread them out, people. I don’t ever recall any superstar having so many commercials featuring himself during his own game. Thoughts?
